The Prescence of this disease can contribute to progressive decline and deterioration of the trees structural condition. Additionally, fungal fruiting bodies consistent with 'dead mans fingers' have been observed in the vicinity of the base of tree. Their presence may indicate fungal activity associated with decaying woody material and warrants consideration when assessing the condition of the root collar and lower stem.
