Proposed alterations and single storey rear extension
T1; Sycamore - Dismantle to near ground level. Reason: This road-side tree is in a state of terminal decline. Carrying significant dead wood in the crown and with numerous defects in the stem, it is felt that restorative work would not be sufficient to enable successful retrenchment or rejuvenation. Highly likely to coppice at stump and remain as a feature in a different form. T2; Macrocarpa - Dismantle to near ground level. Reason: Following detailed discussion with both the owner of the tree and Mr. J. Willis (senior Tree Officer), it was decided that to improve growing conditions and and to encourage greater wind-firming of the adjacent cedar, removal of the macrocarpa would be beneficial. The macrocarpa has outgrown its position and has little amenity value (esp. when compared with the potential value of the cedar, if managed correctly into the future).
Acer spp. Pollard at spring of crown (approx 2.5m) Reason: to rejuvenate as a more manageable crown. The tree is currently very imbalanced and of poor form. Pollarding will enable retention, with occasional, formative interventions mitigating effects of prevailing south westerly winds as the crown reforms.
T1; Macrocarpa - Crown clean, removing dead, dying and dangerous branches. Reason: To ensure the health and future amenity value of the tree and safety.
Condition compliance application on 26/00905/HOU relating to Conditions 3 (Tree Protection) and 4 (Soft landscaping) to be discharged
T1; Holm Oak (Quercus ilex) - Pollard overall canopy, total approximately 30%. Reason: To reduce encroachment and slow the growth connecting with building. Tree also has Artists fungus (Ganoderma applanatum), so to reduce overall leverage
T1; Poplar - Reduce to previous points, reducing height from 13m to 10m and spread from 5m to 4m. T2; Prunus - Remove low branches in the southeast corner of the garden to raise crown to 2m. T3; Oak - Reduce previous dimensions: north 4m; east 4m; south 3m; west 3m, by thinning. T4; Hornbeam - Reduce the low primary branch to the north over Gold Street to 3m. T5; Dead elm (on western boundary) - Remove. T6; Common ash - Re-pollard. T7; Manna ash - Re-pollard. T8; Manna ash - Re-pollard.
Demolition of dwelling; Proposed replacement dwelling
Proposed alterations and extension to first floor to create additional living accommodation; new porch; alterations to fenestration; extension to decking
T1; Flowering Plum (Prunus domestica) - Prune overall canopy approximately 30% to include a crown lift over highway; reduction of boughs extending towards neighbours property and BT wire. Reason: To reduce encroachment and comply with highways regulations.
