Following the nearby failure of large chestnut and the loss of the companion canopy, the tree is more exposed to external forces and recently the brakeage of few limbs have triggered concern. It is suggested to carry out a retrenchment pruning by approx. .2.5 metres on south quadrant elongated limbs to mitigate risk of further failure. Pruning cut should not exceed 60-70 mm in diameters. Tree surgery will be implemented in line with best practice as per BS 3998.
